Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD)

This test will measure your intracellular levels of NAD.

NAD is a coenzyme found in all living cells. It is essential to life because it catalyses reactions for more than 400 enzymes, including those involved in the production of cellular energy (ATP).

NAD plays an essential role in six of the nine hallmarks of ageing:

  1. Genetic Instability and DNA repair
  2. Epigenetic alterations
  3. Loss of proteostasis
  4. Mitochondrial dysfunction
  5. Cellular senescence
  6. Deregulated nutrient sensing

NAD is concentrated in our Mitochondria – which are the powerhouses of all the cells in our body. Scientists have recently found that NAD declines as we age and that lower NAD levels are linked to loss of function and vitality, and many age-related diseases.

Why is it vital to measure your cellular NAD levels? Because NAD is involved in many mitochondrial actions and regeneration activity.  By measuring your NAD levels, you can then optimise your NAD levels and keep the cells bathed in this amazing super fuel.

Potential Benefits of Optimal NAD -

  • Increased cellular energy (ATP).
  • Improved endurance and strength.
  • Improved DNA repair.
  • Reduced oxidative stress.
  • Greater ability to fight inflammation.
  • Improved bone density.
  • Better prevention of age-related diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Reduced cellular senescence.
  • Better immune health.
  • Improved brain-cell repair and protection.
  • Improved glucose intolerance and insulin sensitivity.
  • Improved blood plasma lipid profiles.
  • Improved nerve-tissue generation.
  • Improved circadian rhythm and intracellular calcium release during sleep.

After completing the Intracellular NAD Test, you’ll be provided with a 16-page report explaining your levels, what it means to your rate of ageing, and some strategies to discuss to optimise your levels quickly.

If your NAD is not within a healthy range, consider taking the test again 2-4 weeks after you've implemented steps to increase your NAD levels.

Most NAD-boosting strategies should raise your NAD levels within 2-4 weeks.

Keep in mind that you may be prescribed multiple NAD boosting strategies to find one that works best for you. Repeated testing is the only way you can measure progress towards your personal Longevity goal.
